Nettes fall to Canadian on day two of Gruver tourney

The Sudan Nettes’ suffered their first loss of the Gruver Holiday Classic on day two of the tournament, when they fell to Canadian, 50-33.

With the loss, they fall to 2-1 in tournament play on the weekend.

Canadian jumped out to a, 17-6, lead in the first quarter, and the Nettes were never able to recover. Sudan added eight points in the second frame, but trailed the Lady Cats, 28-14, going into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, Canadian poured in 15 points, to extend their lead to, 43-21, going into the final quarter of play. Sudan would outscore the Lady Cats, 12-7, in the final quarter, but it was not enough, as they fell to Canadian, 50-33.

Stevi Lockhart led the team in scoring with 10 points, to go along with one rebound, one assist and one steal, while Addison Boehning tallied eight points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists. Gracyn Shultz chipped in five points and one rebound, while Liz Sital contributed five points, three rebounds and one steal.

Sydney Cornelius tallied three points and two rebounds, while Riley Edens added two points and three rebounds, and Landree Gonzales added two rebound and one assist. Kambry Tolbert tallied four rebounds, while Braelyn Pointer finished with two rebounds.
