Nettes season comes to an end in Area round

The Sudan Nettes varsity basketball team saw their season come to a close in the 2A Area round of the playoffs on Thursday against the Panhandle Pantherettes, 68-24.

 

The Nettes finished the season with an overall record of 23-6, 8-2 in district play. Karson Powers knocked down a three from the left wing to open the game for Panhandle, but Hannah Miller answered with a deep two from the right elbow, making the score, 3-2. The Pantherettes, though, would go on a tear, scoring 12 unanswered points before Delanie Black banked in a three from the top of the key off of the assist from Lexi Bartley, making the score, 15-5, with 2:39 remaining in the opening quarter. Black; she made both free throws, but Callan Netherland answered with a three from the right elbow, cutting the lead to, 17-8. Panhandle ended the quarter on a 7-0 scoring run to take a, 24-8 lead into the second quarter.
