Nettes fall at home to Seminole, 61-33

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team fell to the Seminole Maidens at home on Monday, 61- 33.

With the loss, the Nettes fall to 10-8 overall on the season.

It was a tight game early on, with Seminole clinging to a one-point advantage at the end of one, 11- 10. The Maidens, though, would pull away in the second quarter, outscoring the Nettes, 14-6, to take a, 25-16, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Out of the break, it was a tightly contested third quarter, with Seminole adding to their lead, making the score, 38-27, heading into the final quarter of play. However, in the fourth quarter, the Maidens poured in 23 points to down the Nettes, 61-33, in Sudan.

Stevi Lockhart led the team in scoring with 11 points, to go along with two rebounds and one assist, while Addison Boehning, chipped in nine points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists. Braelyn Pointer, contributed five points, three rebounds and one block, while Gracyn Shultz tallied three points, one rebound and one steal.

Elaine Martinez added three points, two rebounds and one assist, while Sydney Cornelius chipped in two points and one rebound and Riley Edens finished with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.
