Fillies fall to Sundown, 60-48

The Olton Fillies’ varsity basketball team fell to the Sundown Roughettes on Tuesday in Olton, 60-48.

It was a tight game through one quarter, with Sundown holding a two-point lead, 10-8. Olton poured in 12 points in the second frame, but Sundown was able to stretch their lead out to six points, 26-20, heading into the locker room at halftime.

The third quarter was tightly contested with Sundown edging out the Fillies, 16-13, to extend their lead to, 42-33, heading into the final quarter of play. In the fourth quarter, Olton was outscored, 18-15, as they fell to the Roughettes, 60-48.

Kylee Noack led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Emma Acker tallied nine points and Shaylee Leathers chipped in eight points in the contest. Olivia Cox contributed seven points, while Makenly Smith tallied six points and Makay Espy finished with three points.

The Fillies will travel to Nazareth on Friday to take on the Swiftettes.

Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
