Nettes blow Floydada away at home, 63-32

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team took down the Floydada Lady Wind on Monday, 63-32.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 10-7 overall on the season.

Sudan poured in 21 points in the first quarter, to take a, 21-4 lead into the second frame. In quarter number two, they outscored the Lady Wind, 19-11, to take a, 40-15, lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, Sudan outscored Floydada, 15-8, making the score, 55-23, heading into the final quarter of play. In the final quarter, Floydada outscored Sudan, 9-8, but the Nettes took the contest, 63-32.

Stevi Lockhart led the team in scoring with 19 points, to go along with four assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block, while Addison Boehning tallied 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Gracyn Shultz contributed 10 points, two rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal, while Braelyn Pointer chipped in seven points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal and Riley Edens added four points, six rebounds, one assist and one block.

Landree Gonzales notched three points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block, while Elaine Martinez tallied two points, two steals, one assist and one rebound. Sydney Cornelius added three rebounds, and Kambry Tolbert finished with one assist in the contest.

The Nettes host Bovina on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
