LADY CATS GO 2-0 IN POOL PLAY AT FARWELL

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team began tournament play at Farwell on Thursday, where they took down Texico, 59-22.

Madison McNeese, led the team with 19 points, while adding seven steals, four rebound and two assists. Arianna Cruz joined her in double-figures scoring with 10 points, to go along with three rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Leilani Solis tallied eight points, two assists, two steals and one rebound, while Mahalia Huey notched eight points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal, and Brookelyn Gau chipped in six points, two rebounds and one steal. Ashtyn Parker contributed four points and two rebounds, while Amiah Elizondo chipped in two points and six rebounds.

Bri Valdez added one point, while Kennadi Hanlin finished with one point, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Jazmin Barios finished with two rebounds and one assist.

Against Bovina on Friday, the Lady Cats took down the Fillies, 59-40 to move to 2-0 in tournament play.

McNeese led the team with 22 points, to go along with five rebounds, and she was joined in double-figures scoring by Hanlin, who tallied 10 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal, and Gau, who chipped in 10 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Huey tallied six points and one assist, while Cruz notched five points, four rebounds and one steal, and Elizondo contributed four points and one rebound.

Solis added two points, three steals, two rebounds and one assist, while Barios added five rebounds, four steals and one assist. Valdez notched two rebounds, while Parker finished with one rebound in the contest.

The Lady Cats played the winner of Pool A on Saturday. Results were not available at press time. They will host Farwell on Dec. 14 th .

Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
