LADY CATS WIN CONSOLATION BRACKET AT DENVER CITY

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team went 4-1 this past weekend at the Denver City Shootout, winning the Consolation Bracket.

The Lady Cats picked up a win over Midland Christian in their tournament-opener, but fell to Levelland Thursday night, 60-34. Junior, Madison McNeese, led the

Junior, Madison McNeese, led the team in scoring with 14 points, to go along with six steals and four rebounds, while sophomore, Kyndal Edgemon, chipped in 11 points two rebounds and one steal, while Arianna Cruz tallied six points and sophomore, Kennadi Hanlin, contributed three points and two steals.

Senior, Brookelyn Gau, led the team in rebounds with 10, while adding three assists and one steal, while senior, Ashtyn Parker added four rebounds and Mahalia Huey tallied two rebounds and one steal. Amiah Elizondo had one rebound and one steal, while senior, Emily Champion added two rebounds and one assist and Jazmin Barios finished with two rebounds.

In their game on Friday, the Lady Cats took down Slaton, 62-49, behind 24 points from McNeese, who also had five rebounds, three steals and one assist.

Edgemon joined her in double-figures scoring with 13 points to go along with six rebounds, while Parker chipped in nine points, four rebounds and one assist and Champion contributed seven points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Gau netted six points to go along with 12 rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Cruz contributed three points, three rebounds and two assists. Hanlin tallied one rebound and one steal, while Huey contributed two rebounds and senior, Leilani Solis, added one rebound. Barios finished with two rebounds and one assist, while Elizondo finished with one steal.

In their second game of the day on Friday, Littlefield picked up a win over Lovington, 62-31, behind 32 points from McNeese, who also had six steals, four rebound and one assist. Champion tallied six points, five steals, three rebounds and three assists, while Cruz netted five points to go along with four rebounds, two assists and one steal and Edgemon added five points, four rebounds and two steals.

Elizondo contributed four points, six rebounds, one steal and one assist, while Parker chipped in four points, one rebound and one steal, and Hanlin added three points, one rebound, one assist and one steal. Bri Valdez netted three points, while Huey added four rebounds, and Gau added three rebounds, three steals and one assist. Solis chipped in two rebounds, while Barios finished with two assists and one rebound.

In the final game of the Consolation Bracket, McNeese poured in 27 points to lead the Lady Cats to a victory over Seagraves, 50-28. She also had four steals, three rebounds and one assist, while Gau tallied eight points, five steals, three assists and one rebound, and Cruz contributed seven points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds.

Parker chipped in four points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal, while Barios notched two points, three rebounds and two steals, and Hanlin added two points, one rebound, one assist and one steal. Valdez added two steals, one assist and one rebound, while Huey chipped in one rebound and one steal and Elizondo finished with one steal and one rebound.

Champion added four assists and one rebound in the contest. The Lady Cats hosted Floydada

The Lady Cats hosted Floydada on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Thursday when they open play at the Farwell Tournament.
