Max Sageser, 78, of Earth, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be announced later. He was born Aug. 23, 1939 in Lubbock, to Emma and Forest Sageser. He attended Texas Tech where he was a member of the Rodeo team and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served in the Air National Guard and was a Republican. In 1959 Max married Charolett Holder and they are parents of two children, Cindy and Sid. They made their home in Cotton Center where he farmed until 1978, when they moved to Dimmitt and he continued to farm there. In 1987, he married Joni Hobbs and they relocated to Earth. He was a member of Earth Baptist Church and was active in his second church, Island Baptist in South Padre Island, where they wintered the last several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jack Sageser; and sister, Emma Frances McCluskey. He is survived by his wife, Joni, his children: Sid of Ft. Worth, and Cindy of Jacksonville, FL; grandsons, Zachary and Alex of Ft Worth and Seth of Austin; a sister, Martha Lou Burnett of Cotton Center; two stepchildren; a step-granddaughter and a step-great-grandson, along with loved nieces and nephews.
