The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Whitharral Lady Panthers on Nov. 16 th , 35-18.
Amherst jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, leading the Lady Panthers, 7- 2, heading into the second frame. But, in quarter number two, Whitharral would outscore the Lady Bulldogs, 16-3, to take an, 18-10, lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 9-4 and 9-8 in the final two quarter to take the contest, 35-18.
Neveah Esquibel led the team in scoring with seven points, while Maricella Gonzales chipped in four points and Nancy Rubio contributed three points. America Pacheco and Journey Baker each finished with two points.
The Lady Bulldogs hosted Wilson on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday at home against Talkington.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
