The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team came up short in their home loss to the Muleshoe Lady Mules last week, 39-30.
With the loss, the Lady Wolverines fall to 0-2 overall on the season.
The Lady Wolverines dropped in eight points in the first quarter, but managed just six points in the second frame and four points in the third quarter, before pouring in 12 points in the fourth quarter, eventually falling to the Lady Mules, 39-30.
Senior, Sayler Beerwinkle, led the team in scoring with 11 points, while senior, Mahalia Delgado, and sophomore, Taytum Goodman, each tallied five points and Sydney Furr contributed four points.
Senior, Micaela Fuentes, chipped in three points and Emma Samaron finished with two points in the contest.
The Lady Wolverines hosted Smyer on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday with a home game against Crosbyton.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
