Fillies notch first win of season over Floydada,43-37

The Olton Fillies’ varsity basketball team picked up their first win of the season over Floydada on Saturday, 43-37.

With the win, the Fillies improve to 1-3 overall on the season.

Olton jumped out to a, 12-5, lead in the first quarter and added 11 points in the second frame to make the score, 23-18, going into the locker room at halftime.

The Fillies outscored the Lady Winds, 12-11, in the third quarter and added eight points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 43-37.

Sophomore, Savannah Arredondo, led the team in scoring with 12 points, while junior,

Olivia Cox, chipped in eight points, and junior, Makenly Smith, contributed six points.

Senior, Shaylee Leathers, tallied five points, while sophomore, Emma Acker, notched four points and Makay Espy added three points. Sophomore, Aspen Struve, and freshman, Annalise Ramage, each finished with two points in the contest.

The Fillies hosted Tahoka on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday, Nov. 23 rd with a road game against Lockney.

Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
