Nettes take down Claude, 56-30

The 2A #11 Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team defeated 1A #2 Claude, 56-30, at the Jim Wilcoxson Girl’s Basketball Showcase at Randall High School on Saturday.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 3-0 overall on the season.

The Nettes poured in 15 points in the opening quarter to take a, 15-10, lead, in which they never surrendered the rest of the game. They outscored Claude, 23-6, in the second frame, making the score, 38-16, heading into the locker room at halftime.

The Nettes added 12 points in the third quarter and six points in the final frame, taking down Claude, 56-30.

Junior, Stevi Lockhart, led the team, pouring in 16 points, to go along with three steals, two rebounds and one assist. Senior, Addison Boehning, tallied 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals, while senior, Liz Sital, contributed eight points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Riley Edens tallied seven points, three rebounds and one steal, while Landree Gonzales, notched six points, one assist and one block. Senior, Sydney Cornelius, chipped in three points, four rebounds and one steal, while junior, Braelyn Pointer, added three points, one rebound and one assist.

Junior, Gracyn Shultz, contributed five assists four rebounds and four steals, while Elaine Martinez, added one steal and junior, Kambry Tolbert, finished with one rebound and one assist. The Nettes were at Abernathy

The Nettes were at Abernathy on Tuesday to take on the Lady Lopes. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Thursday with a road game against Montwood to open Frenship Tournament play.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
