Lady Cats fall on the road against Ropes, 54-47

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team fell on the road on Tuesday against the Ropes Lady Eagles, 54-47.

With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 0-2 overall on the season.

The Lady Cats got out to a slow start in the first quarter, falling into a, 14-5, whole at the end of quarter number one. Both teams poured in 16 points in the second frame to make the score, 30-21, with Ropes in front going into the locker room at halftime.

Littlefield outscored the Lady Eagles, 17-14, to open the second half, trimming the lead to, 44-38, heading into the final quarter of play. But, in the fourth quarter, the Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Cats, 10-9, to take the contest, 54-47. Junior, Madison McNeese,

Junior, Madison McNeese, led the Lady Cats in scoring with 15 points, while senior, Emily Champion, chipped in seven points and senior, Leilani Solis, contributed six points.

Brianna Valdez tallied five points, while Kennadi Hanlin, Mahalia Huey and Kyndal Edgemon, each finished with three points and Arianna Cruz and Ashtyn Parker each added two points in the contest.

The Lady Cats hosted Hale Center on Saturday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday at Levelland when they take on the Loboettes.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
