Lady Cats fall to Estacado, 51-21, to open 2021-22 season

The Littlefield Lady Cats lost their season-opener on Saturday on the road to Estacado, 51-21.

It was a tight game through the first quarter, with the Lady Matadors leading, 10-6, heading into quarter number two. Estacado, though, would outscore the Lady Cats, 14-4, in the second frame to take a, 24-10, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Out of the break, Estacado outscore Littlefield, 27-11, in the second half to take the contest, 51-21.

Amiah Elizondo led the team in scoring with six points, while Leilani Solis tallied five points and Jazmin Barios chipped in four points. Bri Valdez contributed three points, while Mahalia Huey added two points and Arianna Cruz finished with one point.

The Lady Cats were at Ropes on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Saturday with a home game against Hale Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
