Samaron heading to State as Wolverines place 8th at Regional XC Meet

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity cross country team ran at the Region I-1A Regional Cross Country Meet at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock on Monday, where they finished eighth overall as a team with 187 points.

Senior, Josh Samaron, placed 10 th overall, clocking a time of 19:07.5, which qualified him for the State Cross Country Meet.

Senior, Trace Goodman, finished 18 th overall with a time of 19:36.7, while sophomore, Gavin Gonzales, finished 32 nd with a time of 20:27.8, and freshman, Dadwin Perez, finished 62 nd with a time of 22:13.6.

Freshman, Nehemiah Castillo, finished 65 th with a time of 22:19.1, while junior, Alex Alvarez, finished 75 th with a time of 23:12.6, and senior, Dorian Samarron, finished 95 th with a time of 25:49.1

The State Meet will be held Friday, Nov. 5 th and Saturday, Nov. 6 th at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock, Tx. The 1A boys will run at 9 a.m. on Nov 5 th
