The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity football team is coming off of their second consecutive win last week over O’Donnell, as they get ready to go on the road this week to take on White Deer.

Head Coach Israel DeLeon talked about their win over O’Donnell, saying, “I felt we played OK. Keshan was out sick and we were without another kid for one half. I felt we played well considering.”

This week the Wolverines take on White Deer in a rematch of last year’s Bi-district match-up.

Coach DeLeon talked about the upcoming game, saying, “I feel our offense is capable of a lot more than what we’ve showed. We are not where we need to be blocking and could do better reading defenses. We are fortunate to have some kids that can make things happen when the play breaks down.”

He added, “I feel we are more athletic and faster, but they have a size advantage on us with several big kids.”

Coach DeLeon talked about what he feels some of the keys to getting a victory on Friday will be, saying, “We have to continue to get better and stay healthy. In order to win, we have to stop their running attack and move the ball on offense.

Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. at White Deer.
