The Sudan Nettes and Hornets’ cross country teams competed at the District 5-2A Cross Country Meet on Monday at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
The Nettes placed second overall as a team with 48 points and a combined time of 1:20:35.68, while the Hornets finished third overall with 63 points and a combined time of 1:58:44.49.
The Nettes will be heading to Regionals, while the Hornets will be represented by Edgar Delgado, who placed 10th overall with a time of 22:21.38.
The Nettes were led by Hailey Flores, who placed fourth overall with a time of 15:08.94. Olivia Montes finished sixth with a time of 15:26.78, while Yahaira Martinez finished 10th with a time of 15:59.13.
Elora Thorn finished 13th overall with a time of 16:39.79, while Heidi Pinion-Muniz finished 15th with a time of 17:21.04 and Lizseth Sital finished 19th with a time of 17:51.09.
Also competing for the Hornets were Alan Flores, who finished 13th overall with a time of 22:55.01, while Joseph Willeford finished 17 th with a time of 24:16.16. Hudson Humphreys finished 18 th with a time of 24:29.17, while Enrique Gonzalez finished 20 th with a time of 24:42.77 and Antonio Vargas finished 21 st with a time of 25:27.80.
Josue Cervera finished 22nd with a time of 25:43.55.
DelRay Garza competed in the boy’s JV race, placing first overall with a time of 29:44.41. Regionals will be held Nov. 9th
