Levelland Horse Sale set for Aug. 14-16

Horse enthusiasts, buyers, sellers, and spectators are invited to the Levelland Horse Sale, returning to the Mallet Event Center Aug.14–16 for a weekend filled with demonstrations, competition, trade vendors, and one of the region’s premier horse sales. The weekend kicks off on Friday, Aug.

Senior Citizens Center opening again for meals on Wednesdays

The Lamb County Senior Citizens’ Center will re-open for noon lunches Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 211 Phelps Avenue in downtown Littlefield.Those attending are invited to take food in covered dishes, to share with others, or by a donation to the center.Doors to the center will open at 10 a.m.

AgriLife Extension economist: Cattle prices haven’t hit the ceiling yet

Cattle prices still have room to go up, said a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert.With smaller supplies of cattle on hand and good demand for beef continuing, prices could hold and go higher yet, said David Anderson, Ph.D.

Fillie 12u Softball team competes at Babe Ruth Softball World Series

The Olton Fillies 12U All-Star softball team competed at the Babe Ruth Softball World Series in Florence, Alabama, last week.The Fillies qualified for the World Series back in June, when they won the Babe Ruth Softball State Tournament that was held in Brownfield, Texas.
