Governor Abbott Requests SBA Disaster Declarations For Panhandle Wildfires

Governor Greg Abbott announced that he requested disaster declarations from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for Texas communities affected by wildfires that began on February 26. If approved, these SBA declarations would make federal assistance available in the form of disaster loans for Carson, Hemphill, and Hutchinson counties and their contiguous counties.

HHSC warns Texans about scammers targeting Lone Star Cards

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is receiving an increasing number of complaints about a phone scam targeting clients who use Lone Star Cards and receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
