Lady Cats hold off late surge from Olton to take match, 3-0

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team took their first match of their dual on Saturday with the Olton Fillies in straight sets, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-21. With the win, the Lady Cats improved to 1-4 overall on the season.

Sudan set to host rival Farwell on Friday

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team suffered their first loss of the season on Friday, as they fell on the road to the Sundown Roughnecks, 59-15. They look to bounce back this week, as they turn their attention to the Farwell Steers.

The Olton Fillies’ varsity volleyball team had a dual at Littlefield on Saturday with the Lady Cats and Plains Cowgirls. Against Plains, they took the first set, 25-18, but fell in the next three, 7-25, 6-25, and 14-25, dropping the match, 1-3.

The Anton Bulldogs defense was in the Southland Eagles backfield all night, as the Bulldogs 45’ed the Eagles at halftime, 49-0, at Bulldog Stadium. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 2-0 overall on the season.
