Nettes finish as District 5-2A Runner-Up; Regional bound

HEADED TO REGIONALS – The Sudan Nettes’ cross country team placed second as a team at the District 5-2A Meet on Monday and will be heading to Regionals along with Edgar Delgado from the Hornets cross country team, who finished 10th overall.

Hornets hold off Eagles, 42-35

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team survived a late surge from the Ropesville Eagles on Friday, 42-35, to improve to 1-1 in district play. With the win, the Hornets move to 5-3 overall on the season.

Stevy Smith wins week nine Football Contest

The Week nine edition of the Lamb County Leader-News Football Contest is in the books with Stevy Smith taking first place with a mark of 19-1. Sam Castillo, Tommy Cloninger and Jay Lee tied for second with a mark of 18-2.

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity cross country team had two runners qualify for the Regional Cross Country Meet on Tuesday at the District 4-A Cross Country Meet in Plainview. Senior, Lizbeth Medrano, placed fifth overall with a time of 14:00.

The Anton Lady Dogs’ varsity cross country team finished third as a team at the District 4-A Cross Country Meet that took place in Plainview this week. They were led by sophomore, Andie Alonzo, who finished 10th overall with a time of 14:49.47, to qualify individually for Regionals.

Anton Lady Dogs JH XC team places fourth at District

The Anton Lady Dogs’ junior high cross country team competed at the District 4-A cross country meet in Plainview earlier this week where they finished fourth as a team with 91 points. Millie Castillo led the team, placing fifth overall with a time of 14:44.41.

Lady Cats compete at District 3-3A Meet

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity 1 1 Cross Country team competed at the 1 District 3-3A Cross Country Meet that took place at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock. Sophomore, Brianna Castillo, finished 22nd overall with a time of 15:55.
