The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team defeated the Amherst Lady Bulldogs at home on Tuesday, 67-5. With the win, the Lady Wolverines improve to 9-3 overall, 6-0 in district play, while the Lady Bulldogs fall to 0-5 in district play.

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team throttled the Amherst Bulldogs in their first meeting of the season, 85-27. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 8-3 overall, 5-0 in district play. The Wolverines jumped on top of the Bulldogs early, pouring in 26 points to open the game.

LADY CATS THROTTLE FRIONA, 51-21

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team got back in the win column on Tuesday night with a, 51-31, victory over Friona at Wildcat Gym to close out the first round of district play. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 6-6 overall, 5-1 in district play.

Olton Mustangs sting Hornets at home, 85-20

The number 19 state ranked Olton Mustangs took down the Sudan Hornets on Tuesday, 85-20, at Mustangs Gym. With the win, the Mustangs improve to 15-1 overall, while the Hornets fall to 1-13 overall on the season. Olton jumped out to a fast start, pouring in 26 points in the first quarter.

Littlefield Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Brent Green stepped down last week, after 26 years with the Wildcats athletic program. “It was a tough decision, but playing off of how long I have been here, the 26 years, it’s a grind,” Green said.

NETTES CRUISE PAST PLAINS COWGIRLS, 70-41

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team throttled the Plains Cowgirls on Friday, 70-41, to improve to 2-0 in district play. With the win, the Nettes improve to 8-11 overall on the season. It was a tight game early on, with Sudan holding on to an, 18-13, lead as the first quarter came to a close.

MUSTANGS HOLD OFF TITANS, 62-58

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity football team edged out the Lubbock Titans last week, 62-58, to improve to 14-1 overall on the season. Olton had a big first quarter, pouring in 20 points to take a 12-point lead, 20-8, into quarter number two.
