The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity cross country team finished 5 th at the District 3-3A Meet at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock on Tuesday with 121 points. Sophomore, Omar Martinez, led the team, placing fifth overall to advance him to Regionals, clocking a time of 18:53.30.

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team went on the road and took down the Dimmitt Bobbie, 3-0, in their second meeting of district play on Friday. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 4-1 in district play.

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ Junior High cross country teams competed at the Oil Patch Invitational, where they finished 15 th overall with 352 points. Luis Fuentes finished 42 nd overall with a time of 14:35. 07, while Cohen Ethridge finished 66 th with a time of 15:04.

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team started off fast, but fell short in their efforts on the road on Friday in their district-opener against River Road, falling to the Wildcats, 41-20. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 3-4 overall, 0-1 in district play.

The Olton Colts and Fillies’ junior high cross country teams competed at the Oil Patch Invitational in Sundown on Saturday. On the girl’s side, Mariana Gallegos finished 110 th with a time of 17:45.53, while Melanie Cartajena finished 208 th with a time of 20:52.

The Sudan Middle School Hornets and Nettes’ cross country teams competed at the Oil Patch Invitational in Sundown, where the Nettes finished 6 th overall with 217 points. On the girl’s side, they were led by Addison Cornelius, who placed fourth overall with a time of 14:47.19.
