Wildcat cross country team qualifies for Regionals for first time since 2009

The Littlefield Wildcat and Lady Cats’ varsity cross country teams competed at the district 3-3A Cross Country Meet on Tuesday, where the Wildcats finished as the District Runner-ups with 72 points.

DISTRICT 4-1A RUNNER-UPS - The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity cross country team competed at the District Cross Country Meet in Tulia on Tuesday where they finished as the District Runner-ups, falling to Nazareth by one point for the district championship.

Lady Cats stumble against Fillies in district play

The Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team fell to the Shallowater Fillies on Saturday in district play, 0-3. With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 15-10 overall, 2-3 in district play. Shallowater jumped out to a, 5-8, lead in set one, after a kill by Emma Clawson.

Hornets sting Owls, 20-7, for district victory

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team improved to 4-2 on the season, as they opened district play on Friday with a win over Hale Center, 20-7. With the win, the Hornets improve to 1-0 in district play. Sudan totaled 349 yards of offense, including 225 rushing yards and 124 passing yards.

Lady Cats rally to take down Tulia, 3-2

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team won a thriller last Friday in their home-district opener, as they rallied past the Tulia Lady Hornets, 3-2. With the win the Lady Cats improved to 14-9 overall, 1-2 in district play.

Jan Smith takes Week Six of Football Contest

With week six of the Lamb County Leader-New’s annual football contest in the books, our contest is just past the halfway point. This week, Jan Smith and Ronnie Martin tied for the top spot each going 17-3.
