The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ Varsity golf team capped off the 2023 season with a third-place finish at the State Golf Tournament in Kyle, Texas, this week.
The team shot a combined score of 709; 351 on day one and 358 on day two of the tournament.
Slade Beerwinkle was the top finisher for the Wolverines finishing 11th overall. He shot an 85 on day one of the tournament and an 82 on the second day for a total of 167. Alex Alvarez finished tied for 28th with a score of 178, shooting a 91 on the first day and an 87 on the second day of the tournament.
Xavyer Mosqueda shot an 87 on the first day of the tournament and a 92 on day two, finishing with a total score of 179, which was good for a 30th overall finish. Tyler Tanaro finished tied for 38th, shoot-ing an 88 on day one and a 97 on day two, for a total of 185.
Braden Bradley finished tied for 61st, shooting a 107 on day one and a 109 on day two, for a total of 216.
