The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team fell to the New Home Leopards on Monday in their Wildcat Classic Tournament-opener, 91-53.
It was a close game early on, with New Home jumping out to a, 23-16, lead at the end of the first quarter, but they Leopards were able to push their lead to, 48-24, going into the locker room at halftime.
Springlake-Earth added 15 points in the third quarter and 14 points in the fourth quarter, but New Home poured in 43 points in the second half to take the tournament-opener, 91-53.
Evan DeLeon led the team in scoring with 22 points, while Keshan Holmes chipped in 12 points and Kaden Castillo contributed six points. JJ Jaramillo added five points, while Micah Sanchez, Alex Alvarez, Trace Goodman and Derrick Rosales each finished with two points in the contest.
