The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team blasted the Anton Bulldogs on Friday in their first meeting of district play, 62-30.
Springlake-Earth outscored the Bulldogs, 14-8, in the first quarter and, 14-11, in the second frame to take a, 28-19, lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Wolverines netted 13 points to extend their lead to, 41-26, before erupting for a 21-point fourth quarter to take the contest, 62-30.
Kaden Castillo led the team in scoring with 18 points and he was joined in double-figures scoring by Alex Alvarez, who netted 11 points and Keshan Holmes and JJ Jaramillo, who each finished with 10 points.
Micah Sanchez chipped in six points, while Trace Goodman added five points and Josh Samaron finished with two points.
