The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team went 3-1 at the Denver City Basketball Tournament on Dec, 5th and 6th.
They improve to 4-3 overall on the year.
The Wildcats took down MCA in their opener, 68-44.
The Wildcats were led by Jayden Barrio, who tallied 18 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Chip Green added 16 points, four steals, three rebounds and three assists, and Ryan Williams chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
Kam McCarty contributed nine points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks, while Jose Payan tallied six points and two rebounds, and Andrew Davis added four points, two rebounds and one steal. Nate Castaneda finished with two points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.
In their second game of the tournament, the Wildcats fell to the Plains Cowboys, 61-53.
McCarty led the Wildcats in this contest with 21 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Barrio tallied 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. Castaneda chipped in seven points and four rebounds, while Green contributed five points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Williams added four points, six assists, five rebounds and one steal while Davis finished with two points and two rebounds.
The Wildcats bounced back on Friday with a big win over Fort Stockton, 85-49.
Green led the way in this contest with 28 points, to go along with six rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Williams added 17 points, five assists and five rebounds, and McCarty tallied 17 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, three steals and one block. David added seven points, five rebounds and one assist, while Barrio chipped in seven points, three rebounds and two assists.
Eizeah Coleman contributed three points, while Payan added two points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal, and Castillo finished with two points and four rebounds.
In their final game of the tournament, the Wildcats took down Midland High’s JV, 70-33.
Barrio led the team with 25 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal, while McCarty tallied 15 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists, and Green contributed 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Williams added nine points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals, while Castaneda added six points, six rebounds two steals, one assist and one block and Davis finished with two points and one rebound.
