The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team closed out their season on Tuesday with a road win over the Denver City Mustangs, 42-39.
With the win, the Wildcats end their season with a mark of 12-17 overall, 6-6 in district play.
Littlefield jumped out to a, 13-10, lead in the first quarter, and both teams tallied six points in the second frame, giving Littlefield a, 19-16, lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Wildcats edged out the Mustangs, 14-13, in the third quarter and, 9-8, in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 42-39.
Chip Green led the team in scoring with 11 points, while Jaron Cabello joined him in double-figures scoring with 10 points. Tyrell Norman chipped in eight points, while Jordan Trevino contributed six points, and MJ Randle added five points. Omar Martinez finished with two points in the contest.
