Sudan Hornet football well represented on All-District teams

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team was well represented on the District 2-2A Division II All-District teams.

Caleb Groetken brought home the District 2-2A DII Offensive MVP Award, while Gabriel Lopez was named the District’s Defensive Lineman of the Year. Brian Delgado was named All-District Utility Player and Westen Cannon was named the District’s Offensive Lineman of the Year.

First team All-District offensive selections include: receiver, Aspen Reyher; kicker, Caleb Groetken; HBack, Cal Carter; offensive linemen, Dylan Provence and Luis Vargas-Valdez; and running back, Kyler Edwards.

First team All-District defensive selections include: defensive lineman, Andrew Larson; inside linebacker, Aybran Granados; inside linebacker, Javier Avila; outside linebacker, Kincaid Boehning; defensive back, Aspen Reyher; defensive back, Haden Provence and punter, Caleb Groetken.

Second team All-district selections were defensive lineman, Luis Vargas-Valdez; outside linebacker, Maximus Lopez and defensive back, Cal Carter.

Second team All-District offensive selections were, receiver, Kooper Edwards; H-Back, Aybran Granados; receiver, Christian Delgado and offensive lineman, Andrew Larson. Zach Montes earned Honorable Mention defensive back.
