The Springlake- Earth Wolverine and Lady Wolverines’ varsity golf teams competed at the Regional Golf Tournament last week, where the Wolverines finished as the Regional Runner- ups and the Lady Wolverines finished as the Bronze Medalists.
The Wolverines finished tied for second with Whitharral and had to have a team play-off where they beat the Panthers by one stroke, clinching second place at the Regional Tournament and a bid to the State Tournament.
The Wolverines were led by Froyland Agundiz, who shot an 83 in the first round and a 79 in the second round for a total of 162. Ethan Mosqueda shot an 85 in the first round and an 82 in the second round for a total of 167, while Jacob Alvarez shot a 96 in the first round and an 86 in the second round for a total of 182.
Bryan Longoria shot a 106 in the first round and a 98 in the second round for a total of 204, and Easton Bradley shot a 103 in the first round and a 102 in the second round for a total of 205.
The Lady Wolverines were led by Hannah Alvarez, who shot a 96 in the first round and a 94 in the second round for a total of 190, while Ennah Mosqueda shot a 100 in the first round and a 104 in the second round for a total of 204.
Braylee Herriage shot a 108 in the first round and a 104 in the second round for a total of 212 and Jocelyn Salas shot a 130 in the first round and 120 in the second round for a total of 250.
The Boys State Golf Tournament will be held on April 27-28, while the girl’s Tournament will be on May 4th and 5th. Both Tournaments will be at Crystal Falls Golf Club Leander, TX.
