Olton sending pair of athletes to Regionals

The Olton Mustang and Fillies’ varsity cross country teams competed at the District 4-2A Cross Country Meet at LCU on Monday, where the Mustangs finished fifth overall with 115 points and the Fillies finished sixth overall with 147 points.

The Mustangs were led by junior, Harry Amador, who placed eighth overall, clocking a time of 18:32.

Senior, Jimmy Munoz, finished 20th overall with a time of 20:35, while freshman, Manuel Marquez finished 27th with a time of 21: 24, and sophomore, Brennen Meredith finished 33rd with a time of 22:30.

Freshman, Aiden Ramos finished 36th with a time of 23:36, while freshman, Jaime Reyna, finished 40th with a time of 25:23.

The Fillies were led by junior, Yarely Santillan, who placed fifth overall, clocking a time of 14:03, and freshman, Harlow Gorman, who finished 19th with a time of 15:26.

Senior, Stephanie Hernandez, finished 37th overall with a time of 17: 24, while freshman, Maraiah Diaz finished 41st with a time of 18:22, and Magaly Rios finished 45th with a time of 19:31. Senior, Destiny Garcia finished 46th with a time of 19:34, while junior, Naomi Mosqueda finished 48th with a time of 20:17.

Amador will represent the Mustangs and Santillan will represent the Fillies at the Regional Cross Country Meet at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock on Oct. 24th.
