The Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team rolled to victory last Tuesday over the Lubbock Titans, 86-50.
With the win, the Mustangs improve to 18-3 overall on the season.
Olton jumped out to a, 24-9, lead in the first quarter, and they poured in 22 points in the second frame to extend their lead to, 46-24, going into the locker room at halftime.
The second half was more tightly contested, but the Mustangs outscored the Titans, 18-16, in the third quarter and, 21-10, in the final frame to take the contest, 86-50.
Chris Urbina led the team in scoring with a team-high 24 points, and he was joined in double-figures scoring by Alex Santillan, who boasted 16 points, Andrew Martinez, who tallied 11 points and Joe Canchola, who finished with 10 points.
Jake Soliz and Brennon Huguley each tallied seven points, while Nathan Urbina notched 6 points and Nick Casares finished with four points.
The Mustangs were at Morton on Tuesday to take on the Indians. Results were not available at press time. They will close out the pre-district schedule on Friday with a road game against Sudan.
Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
