Nettes throttle Ralls, 84-18

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team throttled the Ralls Lady Rabbits on Wednesday, 8418, to improve to 9-1 in district play.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 18-8 overall on the season.

The Nettes poured in 27 points in each of the first two quarters to take a, 54-10, lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, Sudan outscored Ralls, 19-2, and in the final frame they outscored the Lady Rabbits, 11-6, to take the contest, 84-18.

Stevi Lockhart led the team in scoring with a game-high 38 points, five assists, four steals, three blocks and one rebound, while Blessy Montes tallied 12 points, three steals, two rebounds and one assist, and Edette Herrera chipped in 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Elaine Martinez contributed nine points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Melo Rodriguez tallied six points, four rebounds and one assist. Gracyn Shultz contributed five points, six assists, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Kambry Tolbert added two points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal, while Braelyn Pointer contributed five rebounds and two steals, and Brianna Sanchez finished with four steals, two rebounds and one assist.

The Nettes were at Olton on Friday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday with a home game against Hale Center.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
