The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team won their season- opener on Nov. 4th, 51- 35, over Trinity Christian.
With the win, they improve to 1- 0 overall on the season.
The Nettes opened the game with a 12- point first quarter and added 16 points in the second frame to take a, 28- 14, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Sudan opened the second half with 14 points in the third quarter, but in the final frame they were outscored, 11-9, but it was not enough for a comeback as they took the contest over Trinity Christian, 51-35.
Melo Rodriguez led the Nettes in scoring with 14 points, to go along with five rebounds, four steals and one assist, while Blessy Montes tallied 13 points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists. Haylee Toscano contributed six points, five steals, three rebounds and two assists, while Addison Cornelius chipped in five points, four steals, one rebound and one assist.
Edette Herrera tallied four points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Arianna Sanchez added three points, two rebounds and one steal, and Lexi Jennings finished with three points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Kaileigh Greenwalt chipped in three points, four steals, one rebound and one assist, while Emry Humphreys tallied two rebounds, one assist and one steal, and Brinley Magby finished with one rebound and one steal.
