The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team traveled to Sands on December 28th and came away with a victory, 4940.
With the win, the Nettes improve to 12- 7 overall.
Sudan jumped out to a, 14-9, lead in the first quarter and outscored Sands, 16-11, in the second frame to take a, 30- 20, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Sands would bounce back in the second half to outscore Sudan, 9- 8, in the third quarter, but both teams tallied 11 points in the fourth quarter, as Sudan’s early lead guided them to victory, 49-40.
Stevi Lockhart led the team in scoring with 17 points, to go along with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block, while Gracyn Shultz tallied 13 points, five rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block, and Blessy Montes chipped in 12 points and two steals.
Landree Gonzales contributed two points, two rebounds and one steal, while Braelyn Pointer tallied two points, five rebounds, five steals, three assists and one block, and Elaine Martinez chipped in two points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Edette Hererra added one points, two steals and one rebound, while Kambry Tolbert finished with two rebounds and two assists.
The Nettes hosted the Olton Fillies on Tuesday, as they returned to district action. Results were not available at press time. They will continue district play on Friday when they travel to Hale Center to take on the Lady Owls.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
