The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a road victory over New Deal, 69-37.
With the win, the Nettes improve to 22-8 overall, 13-1 in district play.
Sudan jumped out to a, 13-8, lead in the opening quarter and outscored the Lady Lions, 18-6, in the second frame to take a, 31-14, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Sudan poured in 21 points in the third quarter, and outscored New Deal, 17-6, in the fourth to take the contest, 69-37.
Gracyn Shultz led the Nettes with 22 points to go along with three rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Stevi Lockhart tallied 15 points, six assists and two rebounds. Braelyn Pointer chipped in eight points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Blessy Montes contributed seven points, four rebounds and one steal.
Edette Herrera tallied six points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Melo Rodriguez contributed five points, four rebounds and one steal. Elaine Martinez added four points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal, while Kambry Tolbert finished with two points, three steals, one rebound and one assist. The Nettes will be at Hereford High School in the first round of the Class 2A Play-offs on Monday to take on Bovina in the Bi-district round.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
