The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team rolled past Monahans on Saturday, 89-29, in their final game of the O.W. Follis Tournament at Lamesa High School on Saturday.
With the win the Nettes improve to 6-7 overall on the season.
Sudan jumped out to a, 24-8, lead in the first quarter and took a, 59-11, lead into the locker room at halftime.
They outscored Monahans, 16-6, in the third quarter and, 14-12, in the final frame to take the contest, 89-29.
Gracyn Shultz led the team in scoring with 21 points, to go along with three rebounds and three steals. Stevi Lockhart tallied 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks, while Elaine Martinez tallied 14 points, four rebounds, four steals and one assist.
Blessy Montes contributed 11 points, two rebounds and one steal, while Edette Herrera chipped in 11 points, eight steals, two rebounds and one assist and Brianna Sanchez finished with four points, one assist and one steal.
Landree Gonzales tallied four points, five steals, two blocks, two assists and one rebound, while Braelyn Pointer added three points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal, and Kambry Tolbert finished with two points, five assists, three rebounds and one steal.
The Nettes were at Muleshoe on Tuesday to take on the Lady Mules. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday when they travel to Sundown to take on the #2 Roughettes.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
