The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team took down the Brownfield Lady Cubs, 70-49, at the Tahoka Tournament this weekend.
Sudan erupted out of the gates in the first quarter with 24 points and the Nettes poured in another 24 points in the second frame to take a, 48-24, lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Nettes outscored Brownfield, 16-15, making the score, 64-39, going into the final quarter of play. Brownfield would outscore the Nettes, 10-6, in the final frame, but Sudan would take the contest, 70-49.
Edette Herrera led the Nettes with 17 points, five steals, four assists and two rebounds and was one of four Nettes in double-figures scoring.
Addison Cornelius tallied 16 points, five steals, four rebounds and one assist, while Kaileigh Greenwalt chipped in 11 points, eight steals and six rebounds, and Haylee Toscano contributed 11 points, two rebounds and one steal.
Masyn Provence tallied five points, four steals, two rebounds and two assists, while Emry Humphreys contributed four points, six steals, three assists and one rebound, and Lexi Jennings chipped in two points, three rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Andrea Williams added two points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist, while Erica Herrera tallied two points and six rebounds, and Raquel Armendariz contributed six rebounds, one assist and one steal. Journey Baker finished with three steals and two rebounds.
