The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday when they fell on the road to the Whiteface Lady Lopes, 61-46.
With the loss, the Nettes fall to 3- 1 overall on the season.
It was a tight game early-on, as Whiteface held a one- point advantage, 12-11, at the end of the first quarter. Sudan tallied 13 points in the second frame, but trailed the Lady Lopes at halftime, 26-24.
Whiteface was able to widen their lead in the third quarter, as they outscored the Nettes, 14-10, to take a, 40-34, lead into the final quarter of play. In the fourth quarter, Whiteface ran away with a 21- point outburst to take the contest, 61- 46.
Melo Rodriguez tallied 10 points, five steals, three rebounds and two assists to lead the Nettes, while Blessy Montes chipped in nine points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist. Edette Herrera contributed eight points, seven rebounds, six steals and one as-sist, while Haylee Toscano tallied eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Kaileigh Greenwalt added six points, one rebound and one steal, while Addison Cornelius tallied two points, four rebounds, three steals and one assist. Lexi Jennings added two points and three rebounds, while Erica Herrera chipped in one points and two rebounds and Emry Humphreys finished with one rebound and one assist.
