The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team went undefeated at the Lamesa Tournament last weekend, going 5-0.
They improve to 9-6 overall on the year.
In their tournament-opener on Thursday, the Nettes took down Kermit, 67-38.
They were led by Haylee Toscano, who finished with 14 points, five steals, four rebounds, one assist and one block. Lexi Jennings tallied 12 points, five rebounds and one steal, while Edette Herrera chipped in eight points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, and Andrea Williams added seven points, five rebounds and two steals.
Addison Cornelius contributed seven points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Masyn Provence finished with six points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.
In game two on Thursday, the Nettes took down Klondike, 7361.
They were led by Toscano, who tallied 18 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals. She was joined in double-figures by Edette Herrera, who finished with 16 points, six assists, six steals and four rebounds, while Cornelius added 12 points, five steals, five rebounds and one assist and Jennings contributed 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. Kaileigh Greenwalt finished with eight points and three rebounds.
On Friday the Nettes took down Tahoka, 55-46, in their first game of the day.
Toscano, again, led the Nettes with 13 points, to go along with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Cornelius tallied 10 points, five steals, four assists and three rebounds, while Jennings chipped in nine poings, four steals, three rebounds and one assist, and Edette Herrera added nine points, 12 rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Emry Humphreys added six points, four rebounds and one assist, while Greenwalt finished with six points and one steal.
The Nettes clashed with Monahans on Friday afternoon, taking the contest, 78-47.
Cornelius led the way for the Nettes with 23 points, three steals and two rebounds, while Edette Herrera tallied 20 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals, and Toscano added nine points, four steals, two rebounds and two assists.
Jennings contributed nine points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist, while Kalissa Harris finished with five points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist.
In their final game of the Tournament on Saturday, the Nettes took down Spur, 68-63.
Jennings led the team in scoring with 22 points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist, while Edette Herrera tallied 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and one block, and Cornelius chipped in 11 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Toscano added eight points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists, while Humphreys finished with six points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal, and Greenwalt contributed six points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two assists. Erica Herrera added three points four rebounds and one steal.
