NEttes fall on the road to Whitharral, 75-63

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team fell on the road on Saturday to the Whitharral Lady Panthers, 75-63.

With the loss, the Nettes fall to, 1-2 overall on the season.

The Lady Panthers jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter, outscoring the Nettes 20-9. They would continue that momentum into the second frame where they poured in 28 points to take a, 4821, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Nettes would not go down without a fight, as they poured in 23 points in the third quarter, cutting the lead to, 67-44. Sudan would outscore Whitharral, 19-8, in the final quarter, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit, as they fell to the Lady Panthers, 7563.

Edette Herrera led the way for Sudan with 19 points, seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block, while Haylee Toscano joined her in double-figures scoring with 12 points, to go along with four rebounds and three steals.

Addison Cornelius was also in double-figures scoring with 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block, while Lexi Jennings tallied six points, one rebound and one assist, and Masyn Provence contributed five points, one rebound and one assist.

Emry Humphreys chipped in five points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Kalissa Harris tallied two points, one assist and one steal, and Journey Baker added two points, one rebound and one steal. Kaileigh Greenwalt tallied one point, six rebounds and three steals, while Erica Herrera contributed two rebounds and one steal, and Andrea Williams and Raquel Armendariz each finished with one rebound.

The Nettes will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 16th when they travel to Dimmitt to take on the Bobbies.
