Nettes fall on the road in Dimmitt, 75-58

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team fell to the Dimmitt Bobbies on Saturday, 75-58, in Dimmitt.

With the loss, the Nettes fall to 1-3 overall on the year.

Dimmitt edged out the Nettes, 16-14, taking a narrow lead into the second frame, but the Bobbies pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Nettes, 19-14, to take a, 35-28, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Dimmitt erupted for 22 points in the third quarter, and outscored Sudan, 18-13, in the final frame, taking the contest, 75-58.

Haylee Toscano led the team with 12 points, four steals, two rebounds and two assists, while Addison Cornelius joined her in double-figures scoring with 12 points, to go along with five rebounds, two steals and one assist. Edette Herrera also finished in double-figures scoring with 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Emry Humphreys tallied seven points, six rebounds, two steals and one block, while Masyn Provence chipped in five points and one steal, and Melo Rodriguez contributed three points, five rebounds and one steal. Kalissa Harris contributed two points, three rebounds and one assist, while Raquel Armendariz chipped in two points and one steal and Erica Herrera finished with two points, six rebounds and one assist.

Kaileigh Greenwalt added two points, one rebound and one steal and Lexi Jennings finished with one point and one rebound.

The Nettes were at Muleshoe on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Thursday when they begin play at the Tahoka Tournament.
