The Sudan Nettes’ varsity softball team closed out their regular season on Saturday with a road victory over the Lockney Lady Horns, 14-6.
With the win, the Nettes improve to 7-8 overall, 5-7 in district play.
Lockney jumped out to a, 1-0, lead in the first inning, but the Nettes’ offense erupted for seven runs in the top of the second inning and four runs in the top of the third inning to make the score, 11-1.
Lockney would push a run across in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to cut the lead to, 11-3. Both teams would add three runs in the sixth inning, as Sudan took the contest, 14-6.
Offensively, Gracyn Shultz had a four-RBI day with two hits and one walk, while Hailey Flores finished with three hits and two RBI’s and Braelyn Pointer finished with two hits and a walk. Kinley Coker also had an RBI in the contest.
Montes pitched a complete game for the Nettes, earning six strikeouts in the win.
