The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team took down the Smyer Lady Cats on Monday, 77-26, at Frenship’s Tiger Pit, in the Class 2A Bi-district round of the Playoffs.
Sudan opened the game on a, 24-2, scoring run and they added 19 points in the second frame to make the score, 43-11, going into the locker room at halftime.
The Nettes came out strong in the second half, pouring in 26 points in the third quarter to extend their lead to, 69-13. Smyer outscored the Nettes, 13-8, in the fourth quarter, but Sudan cruised to victory, 77-26.
Stevi Lockhart was one of five Nettes in double-figures scoring with 14 points to go along with four assists, three rebounds, three steals and one block. Addison Boehning tallied 13 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists, while Gracyn Shultz chipped in 13 points, two rebounds, one assist and one block.
Sydney Cornelius contributed 11 points and four rebounds, while Riley Edens tallied 10 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists. Liz Sital contributed seven points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Braelyn Pointer added four points, three steals, two assists and one re bound, and Landree Gonzales added three points, five assists, three rebounds two steals and one block.
Kambry Tolbert added two points, four steals and two assists, while Elaine Martinez finished with three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
The Nettes played Eldorado at Andrews High School on Friday in the Area Round of the Play-offs. Results were not available at press time.
