Nettes blast Smyer on senior night, 68-32

The Sudan Nettes took care of business on Friday at home against Smyer, as they defeated the Lady Cats, 68-32.

With the win, the Nettes improve to, 21-8 overall, 12-1 in district play.

Sudan got off to a quick start in the first quarter, outscoring Smyer, 22-4, in the opening quarter. The second frame was much close, but Sudan netted 11 points in the frame to stretch their lead to, 33-13, going into the locker room at halftime.

Sudan poured in 21 points in the third quarter and 14 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 68-32.

The Nettes were led by Stevi Lockhart, who had 29 points, seven assists, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks, while Braelyn Pointer chipped in 15 points, five rebounds and one steal. Kambry Tolbert tallied nine points, six steals, three rebounds and two assists, while Gracyn Shultz chipped in eight points, six rebounds, six steals, three assists and two blocks.

Melo Rodriguez contributed three points, three steals, two rebounds and one assist, while Edette Herrera tallied two points and one steal and Elaine Martinez added two points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Blessy Montes contributed four steals and two rebounds, while Brianna Sanchez finished with one rebound.

The Nettes closed out the reagular season on the road on Tuesday against New Deal. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season next week in the first round of the play-offs. Match-ups are TBA.
