The Olton Mustangs blasted Hale Center on Tuesday, 81-49, at Plainview High School to claim the 2A Bi-district championship.
With the win, the Mustangs improve to 28-3 overall on the year.
The Mustangs opened the contest with a 24-point first quarter and added 25-points in the second frame, making the score, 49-30, into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, Olton outscored the Owls, 15-9, making the score, 64- 39. They closed out the game with a, 17-point fourth quarter to take the contest, 81-49.
Chris Urbina led the team in scoring with 28 points, and he was joined in double-figures by Andrew Martinez, who netted 13 points, Jake Soliz, who chipped in 11 points and Alex Santillan, who finished with 10 points.
Nathan Urbina tallied eight points, while Brennon Huguley added six points, and Nick Casares contributed three points. Joe Canchola finished with two points in the contest.
The Mustangs played Wellington at Levelland on Friday for the 2A Area Championship. Results were not available at press time.
