Lady Wolverines, Frietze heading to Regionals for Springlake-Earth

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverine and Wolverines’ cross country teams competed at the District 4-1A Cross Country Meet in Tulia on Tuesday, where the Lady Wolverines finished as the District Runner-ups with 41 points. They missed being district champions by one point.

The Lady Wolverines’ were led by senior, Taytum Goodman, who placed first overall, clocking a time of 11:5.84. With the first place finish, Goodman, earned her sixth consecutive cross country district title in as many years.

Sophomore, Aabriella Villanueva, finished seventh overall with a time of 14:25.62, while junior, Aryca Ibarra, finished ninth with a time of 14: 35.09, and senior, Emma Samaron, finished 10th with a time of 14:38.41.

Junior, Rylie Furr, finished 14th with a time of 115:13.75, while freshman, Yareli Cortez finished 20th with a time of 15:39.15, and junior, Marisela Rodriguez finished 25th with a time of 16:20.12.

On the boy’s side, freshman, Kaylob Frietze, placed fourth overall with a time of 19:33.22.

Frietze and the Lady Wolverines’ team will be competing at the 1A Regional Cross Country Meet on Oct. 23rd at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
