The Springlake Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity cross country team opened the season at the West Texas A&M Twilight Run last Thursday, where they had three girls place in the top 10 and five in the top 15.
The Lady Wolverines placed second as a team behind Farwell with 43 points, clocking a total time of 1:13:01.64.
Senior, Taytum Goodman, placed first overall, blazing a time of 11:52.30, while Aabriella Villanueva, finished ninth overall, clocking a time of 14:51.72, and senior, Emma Samaron, finished 10th with a time of 15:06.87.
Aryca Ibarra finished 11th overall with a time of 15:32.64, while Rylie Furr finished 13th with a time of 15:38.11, and Yareli Cortez finished 15th with a time of 15:50.34.
Jessica Mendoza finished 21st overall with a time of 16:34.40, while Xailei Huerta finished 31st with a time of 19:38.06.
On the boy’s side, Kaylob Fretze finished 2nd overall with a time of 12:20.35.
Springlake-Earth will be competing next on Saturday at the Littlefield Invitational, starting with the varsity girls at 8 a.m.
