The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity basketball team picked up their first win of the season last Tuesday at Hale Center when they took down the Lady Owls, 54-42.
With the win, the Lady Cats improved to 1-1 overall on the season, as Head Coach Teddy Duncan also earned her 100th career win as a coach.
The Lady Cats jumped out to a, 15-8, lead in the opening quarter and they outscored Hale Center, 11-10, in the second frame to take a, 26-18, lead into the locker room at halftime. Both teams netted 14 points in the third quarter, but Littlefield would pour in 14 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 54-42.
Ari Castillo led the team posting a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds, to go along with two steals and one assist, while Amoni Jefferson also posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with one assist and one steal.
Cali Saldana tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one assist, while Nevaeh Esquibel contributed four points, five steals, one rebound and one assist. Nia Cleveland chipped in four points, four rebounds and one steal, while Madison Williams tallied one point and two rebounds.
Aubree Richardson added one rebound and Mattie Seymore finished with two rebounds.
