The Sudan Hornets’ varsity basketball team took down the Lockney Longhorns on Friday, 54-38.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 4-5 in district play.
Sudan jumped out to a, 19-11, lead in the first quarter, and they poured in 14 points in the second frame to take a, 33-16, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Sudan netted 12 points in the third quarter, pushing their lead to, 45-26, going into the final quarter of play. In the final quarter, Lockney outscored Sudan, 12-9, as the Hornets took the contest, 54-38.
Aspen Reyher led the Hornets in scoring with 16 points, to go along with nine rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks, while Haden Provence tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Christian Delgado chipped in nine points, three rebounds and one assist, while Kyler Edwards contributed seven points, three rebounds, one assist and one block.
Jacob Baker added three points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist, while Brian Delgado contributed three points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists, and Aaron Moore tallied two points and two rebounds. Dylan Provence finished with one point in the contest.
The Hornets closed out the regular season on Tuesday against Farwell. Results were not available at press time.
